opening pdf files restricted by security settings

I tried to open 3 e-mails today, all with pdf attachments, but without
success. The mesage displayed is "Your current security settings do not allow
this file to be downloaded"
I have tried find a solution and seem to be going round in circles.
I am using Norton Internet Security and Mocrsof XP Home edition

Most likely you are using Outlook Express.

Go to Tools->Options->Security and uncheck "Do not allow attachments to be
saved or opened that could potentially be a virus" or just press the
"Forward" button for this email and double-click on the attachment.
