"Open With" error for images....

Annoying err !
if I go to a folder where I have several images stored, and I right-
click, then
open with Paintshop pro - or in fact any other image viewer, I get the
following msg:

"Windows cannot find G:\<folder>\<image.jpg" Make sure you typed the
name correctly, and then try again....

and Paint shop pro will not open it, I have to go via the Open menu
and navigate to the image to open it.
this is Not just a PSP error -
If I try to open with Windows Picture and Fax Viewer,(the default) I
get the same error msg - but behind that Windows Picture and Fax
viewer HAS in fact opened the image, even though I still get the error
msg!!!?!?!?!?

any way to "fix" this??

It might help to fix the file extension association. A few, such as jpg
are listed here:
