Windows NT One User Can't Change Desktop Color on One TS, Others OK!

I have three terminal servers...one user can't change their background
color, on one server. The same user can change it on the other servers.
All servers are part of the same OU and subject to the same group policies.
Other users on the server can change it.

The display properties applet (desk.cpl) just doesn't display the background
color drop down in the desktop tab. I've looked through the secpol.msc for
a local setting, done a policy results query, reviewed ntfs permissions on
the applet, and I can't come up with a thing that would cause this.

Now this might not seem like an important issue particularly but when the
color is set to an annoying one, like the MS BLUE well, I'd like to get it
changed.

Anyone have any ideas?

What kind of TS profiles do you have?
Local, I assume? Seems to me a corrupt profile.

Just to make sure, before connecting with mstsc.exe, can you please verify
the Experience tab->Performance Desktop background, Themes etc are all
checked?

Thanks

Thank you for your response.

Checking or unchecking themes makes no difference. From my tests it doesn't
appear that the theme setting in the rdp file makes a difference as to
whethter the desktop background color is available.

My guess at this point is that the profile is corrupt. I'll have to create
a new one for this user and see if it makes any difference.
