Group,

I am running OE6 on a 'current' XP laptop. I receive numerous messages with
attachments that I copy to working locations. I REALLY need to keep the
messages, but don't need to keep the attachments. I have mucked around a
bit trying to delete the attachments and free up the space, but haven't
found a method.

Is there a way to delete attachments from messages without deleting the
supporting message?

Will you tell me what the method is?

TIA

Forward the message, and before sending, delete the attachment, and save the
draft.

Outlook Express for whatever reason isn't set up for that. You can forward
the email and then you will be able to right click on the attachment and
remove it. But then you have to edit the header so you know who it came from
if that is needed. I hear in Outlook you can just delete it. Just not in
Outlook Express.
