Odd Keyboard Poblem

Neil

Does anyone know of any way to change the regional setting for a keyboard
other than via the control panel?

I have a friends Dell laptop and the keyboard was typing the @ sybol when I
press " and vice versa.

Realising this was probably caused by the regional setting being wrong I
went and changed then in 'Control Panel' this seems to not have worked as my
symbols are still reversed.

Is there any where else I can go to change the settings or does anyone have
any other thoughts on what might cause this.

You can specify a hotkey combination to change languages. Click
Start / Help and look for help on "Language". There is whole
section on "Customizing key sequences".

Hi Neil

Did you change just the language setting or the keyboard setting too? It
might be that you have the keyboard set to the wrong "flavour" of
English -- the UK keyboard has the @ and " in the reverse positions to
the US keyboard, for example.

Check in Regional and Language Options | Languages | Details under
Keyboard that it really is set to what you need. If the setting is
wrong, add the driver you want, make it default and then remove the
unwanted one.
