I'm running across this issue with Windows Vista Home basic 32-bit. I'm
getting an important update required of

NVIDIA Corporation driver update for NVIDIA nForce 430/410 Serial ATA
Controller 7/12/2007.

When I do the update, it fails over and over. Is there something wrong, or
can i delete this update. I would like to get this fixed. Any ideas?

Hi there,

Taking OPTIONAL drivers from windows update for non Microsoft hardware is
not recommanded.

If your hardware works fine: just leave it be working fine.

If an update is needed because the harware does not funtion well ( if it
ain't brokeot try to "FIX" it) than go to the manufactures website for an
updated driver.

Hi there,

Taking non MS drivers from windows update is not recommanded.

Drivers for your windows version should be obtained at the manufacturer
website if needed.

Updating drivers is only done when it needs to be fixed or applications
demand an updated driver. If it ain't broke do not try to "fix" it.

Try booting last known good configuration , rolling back on the driver or
use system restore or restore from the system backup you hopefully made
before taking the driver.
