Because it is not the old resource hog it used to be I was considering using it. But right away it said its pass word feature was not compatible with Edge. Although I would not use that feature I wonder about compatibilty with Windows 10.
Would you use it?

No, Peter I would not. I use MSSE which many are critical of but I have yet to have a problem for the last several years. I also use Antimalwarebytes often.

I had reservations. Also Defender is not scanning offline which is a known issue.
I am using Defender, Windows firewall and MBAM.
Windows Defender does not scan offline. I do not feel secure with this package. I do have a router within my ISP's Gateway which is in essence a firewall.

Hi Peter

Also Defender is not scanning offline which is a known issue.
This isn't exactly true.

If you are running the Win10 insider preview .... you will already have Windows Defender offline:

  • Save your work and close any open applications.
  • Click Start and launch Settings.
  • Go to Update and security and click Windows Defender.
  • Scroll down until you see Windows Defender Offline.
  • Click the Scan Offline button.

Your system will restart and Windows Defender will run a scan upon reboot.
Microsoft says the process will take around 15 minutes to complete.

If are not running Win10 Insider Preview, you can download a version of Windows Defender Offline from here.

This is from one of my systems......
