Does anyone know what the difference is between English Windows (any version)
and non English versions? Is it just a menu difference? My company is
building a web application and would like to know if it needs to be tested on
non English windows or not. We have found out that the French version can
cause problems because of a character in their alphabet. Also, if anyone has
any info on the mostly used version of Windows XP that is non english, that
would be helpful too. Thanks.

The most used version other than English is Chinese. I would not recommend
wrestling with it unless you have more than a passing familiarity with the
language. Unfortunately, you cannot rely on menu items being in the same
place as they are on an equivalent English version as I found out when
presented with the Russian version of windows.
