Hello,
So this all began when trying configure new headphones to my laptop to game with. But they sounded funny, so I reconfigured for the other ones that I've been using for a year now, work perfectly well. However, the sound was strange so I fiddled with some things and then no sound.
I thought the problem was in Mumble, however, when Mumble is not launched, I have proper sound coming through the Headphones from YouTube and all that, but the minute I launch my game (SWtoR) there is no sound from the game only.
My devices are all up-to-date and so are the drivers. The box for the Allow Application to take exclusive control is UNchecked as it should be.
The problem is when Speakers and Headphones is Enabled, it takes over, so the sound coming through the Headphones is tinny and not that great. When I disable it, The Communications Headphones are the only ones checked, sound is superb. But the game has no sound is Speakers and Headphones is disabled.
Btw, two days ago before all this, the sound in-game was perfect. (Should never had tried to configure new head phones lol.)
When Speakers and Headphones are unchecked, I hear from everything EXCEPT the game. The sound is good though. If I check it, it becomes the default device and ALL sound is bad. Problem is, I can't get the Communications Headphones to be the Default Device. EVER. I remember that I had somehow figured something out but now I have no idea. It's been a year and I've had good audio for a year. This really bothers me.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
