I have just installed a new Dell computer. In the lower tool bar window their
is a red x next to the sound symbol. When I click on that symbol the error
message reads, " No Audio Output Device is Installed. Has anyone else had a
problem with Windows Vista on a Dell computer? I have tried everything and am
wondering how to install the Audio Output Device. I would love to have sound
on my computer! Appreciate your help.

Have you gone to the Dell site and see if there is a Vista driver for your
audio device?

Thanks, I will do so post haste. Appreciate your help.

Anytime you see a red X that's Windows way of saying something is
wrong. Did you look in Device Manager to see if it is nagging about
something with your audio devices?

Likely it is a missing or improperly installed driver. I haven't
bought a Dell in over a dozen years, I build my own from scratch.
Almost always regardless of make of motherboard or Box maker there are
some drivers you need to install that come on a CD or now maybe a DVD.

The reason I'm telling you that, you should try going to Device
Manager, go down to where it shows sound and video controllers,
expands that tab, click, follow prompts to uninstall any sound drivers
found. It could be under a different tab if you don't it that one. Now
reboot. Watch for Vista to say it found and is installing new drivers
a little windows should pop up in the lower bottom right of your
desktop shortly after Vista boots.

You'll need that CD or DVD from Dell now. If you have one and you get
this far, insert the disc, and you should see some indication a new
copy of driver was installed and assuming you didn't mute or
misconnect any speakers you should be in business.

Otherwise you probably will have to search on Dell's site and download
the needed drivers from there. Have you model number handy. Failing
that you'll need to call Dell tech "support", be ready to blow at
least an hour and be told to do all kinds of mindless things that have
absolutely nothing to do with your problem.

You build PC's from scratch?
Do you mean you snap components together like Lego's.
Or do you physically create your own circuit boards and processor units ?
Do you mold the plastic yourself?

If its a multiple of seven, I will consider it.
Please forward your proposal of other multiples of seven fit as a name of
such enormous satiric genius.
Seven has previously stomped you, and fourteen is thrashing you beyond human
comprehension.
You may need a calculator !

There isn't a fanboy alive that could stomp me. Delusional dreams can
lead to serious mental health problems. I'm guessing your didn't know
that. Get help on learning how to post. If you're only going to add
some juvenile kid stuff at the end at least find the brains to know
how to delete the other hundred plus lines you didn't comment on or
forever be known as an idiot. Oops, never mind. You already are known
as an idiot.

You sure guess a lot.
Do you "guess" you are smart?
Do you "guess" you are a hot air balloon?
Do you "guess" senility goes away?
Do you "guess" Vista is beyond your capability?
Do you "guess" I am far beyond your ability to think?
Keep "guessing"....it's your modus operandi.

If you just received the computer (which I find doubtful...I think something
is wrong here), it most definately will work. What does 'just installed a
new Dell computer' mean? We have many many dozens of Dells and NONE was
delivered with any component that did not work!

You've had your ass kicked so many times in this ng it isn't even funny
any longer. You are a delusional POS moron idiot who can't even get one
little install of Vista business to run correctly yet claim (fukkin liar
that you are) that you have an iq of 170.
You are a mentally deranged pathological liar and hopefully you are
confined to a mental institution never to be let out.
You're a mental mess!
