Hi, newbie to the group here. I just put together a new system and am seeing a odd problem.
Everything except the HDD is new
Asus K8N-E board
1 GB Ram
ATI video card (AGP)
Seagate 40Gb EIDE drive ( previously used)
Sony DVD/CD
WinXP pro in DVD drive
pre-booted and changed setup to 'boot from DVD'
boots from DVD - ok
Problem - loads drivers up to point where it says loading NTFS file system, then black screen, system restarts...
On first pass, I found the HDD cable wasn't seated ok, but even after this was corrected, it does it consistantly... any suggestions?
