Is there a fast and easy way to transfer all the files, user accounts,
documents, everything from one computer running win xp pro to a newly setup
computer running xp pro without loosing anything. also can I move programs
too such as office xp?

Hi mclemore1,

You would have to install any programs that you wanted on the new XP
computer, but you can use File and Settings Transfer Wizard to migrate files
and settings from the one computer to the newly set up computer:

You can easily transfer all user data, etc., but you can not transfer
programs. That's because all applications (except for a very occasional
trivial one) have many entries and pointers to them within Windows--in the
registry and elsewhere. The programs without Windows--without those entries
and pointers--are worthless. So if you have a new installation of Windows,
you also have to reinstall all your programs.

Have you thought about taking the whole HD and installing into the new
computer......moving the new comps HD to a secondary location (slave).
And then doing a repair installation of XP pro to correct the drivers needed
for the new system...........
Of course this would only work if you had a retail copy of XP.........not a
"recovery" copy that came with thesystem.
