I am setting up a Network for my work, and I was wondering if anybody has ever heard of the the following problems??

1. One of the PC's (192.168.1.1) is blasting roughly 9,000,000,000,000 packets over the network in the first 1 1/2 minutes of being connected. It does not contain any viruses, so I am confident there isnt a problem, but I have a naggning feeling that many packets may be whats causing some other problems including...

2. A number of the PC's will talk to each other, but in some instances, between .1.4 and .1.5 for example, .1.4 will ping .1.5 quite happily and without ANY errors, however, .1.5, nor any other member of the network for that matter, can ping .1.4??

Any ideas guys??

You definitely have something going on. I would do a full scan for trojans, virus or any other malware.
