All the computers in my house are connected to a network and it's been
working fine for a long time, but today I got a new laptop. The laptop
connects fine but I wanted to create a workgroup between my laptop and my PC
so they can share music and stuff...

So I went on my PC and set up the network (well, I thought I did) but I
restarted my computer and all a sudden all my network connections are gone.
Ipconfig doesn't work, I can't see any other computers. I've tried creating
new networks, adding new connections, all the Wizards and such (I don't have
any Windows XP network CD though) and nothing worked.

Right now I'm going to try and remove my NIC and start it up see if it will
reinstall, and I'll update in a little, but anyone know what happened?

You got a new Laptop, so before doing anything, you need to change the
Laptop's Name and its Workgroup. The Name needs to be different from your
PC. Its Workgroup, needs to be the same as the PC's.
