Hi,

I'm wondering why Network Monitor 3.1 that appears approved in Feature Packs
is not seen by client computers (XP SP3)?
WSUS console shows that it's not applicable..

Thanks in advance!

Most likely the WSUS package hasn't been updated to include coverage for SP3.
It's possible that Network Monitor itself doesn't support SP3 yet, I don't know.

The download page for Network Monitor has a link for Support/Problem Reporting
you could try that if you like.

Interesting, that after I manully installed Network Monitor 3.0, an update
to 3.1 version came up in a minute from WSUS server..

Was this also the case with Windows XP SP2?

Most WSUS packages only update a product rather than actually installing one if
it isn't present. This is by design. (Unfortunately it can be hard to tell the
one kind of package from the other.)

Yes it was. SP2 machines don't get NetMon either.

I see. However, it seems to me that "Feature Packs" means that approved
"features" should be installed, since
"feature" (my opinion) does not depend on previous version. If the feature
is approved it should be installed.
It would be great if it's possible to change the current behaviour.

Anyway, thanks for help!
