Need to remove Office 2007 Beta before upgrade to new 2007 but can

I need to remove the Office 2007 Beta before I can install the “real†Office
2007. I tried once but it did not complete. Now when I try again, it will
not work.

Here are specifics. When I start the 2007 install CD, I get this message:
Setup is unable to proceed due to the following error(s):
The 2007 Microsoft Office system does not support upgrading from a
prerelease version of the 2007 Microsoft Office system. You must first
uninstall any prerelease versions of the 2007 Microsoft Office system
products and associated technologies.
Correct the issue(s) listed above and re-run setup.

When I select Add/Remove programs, the Professional Plus 2007 (Beta) is
listed as: Size 680.00MB Used Frequently. When I select Change, I get this
message:
This product installation has been corrupted. Run setup again from the CD,
DVD. or other original installation source.

I do not have an install CD, since this was installed directly from the
Microsoft internet site.

When I select Remove, I get this message:
Setup could not find any available products to install. Please contact your
system administrator.

This is my home system I do not have an administrator.

I suspect that there is some file that needs to be changed or removed. Do
you know how either the Install or Change/Remove programs detect an error?

Download the beta again.
This time save it instead of running it as it downloads.
Then following the successful installation, try uninstalling the Beta.

Probably from someone else who saved it. Being a released product, most
betas will have been removed.

You will likely have to ask in an Office 2007 group about doing a manual
removal of the files and registry sections.

This is, as it happens, why you should download complete installers wherever
possible, rather than installing from online sites.

These two pages describe how to remove Office 2007 (beta) manually; you can
follow the same steps for the trial.

Re: Need to remove Office 2007 Beta before upgrade to new 2007 but

If you can not locate a Beta to install, ask in one of the Office
newsgroups:
http://aumha.org/nntp.htm
Someone there has probably seen this or something similar before.
