Does anybody know if Plextor will refurbish a SCSI cd Burner for you?
mine is several years old and needs to be rebuilt, either that or a new pc
and SATA DVD burner but it needs to work with my CDRWIN software, has anybody
used this software on a SATA Plextor DVD burner to make backups of your CDG's
(for you own personal library).

buy new hardware, it comes with software and will be less
expensive than trying to fix an old SCCI drive.

The problem that I see with that, is my current SCSI drive works perfectly
with CDRWIN, and I'm not certain what SATA Plextor DVD burners will.
Well I should say the old SCSI drive worked with CDRWIN, it's got issues
now, and needs rebuild.

Somebody does, indeed, know if Plextor will refurbish a SCSI cd Burner --
the folks at Plextor know.

Steve

"refurbish," as I've always understood it, has very little to do with
actually repairing an item, and is more often than not, an "as new," item
being repackaged by the manufacturer, and "sent out" again. Considering the
very low price of throw-away consumable items like cd/dvd drives, (I know
that Plextor is a comparatively expensive brand), I would suggest that it's
cheaper to simply buy a new drive.

Service-ability / mostly isn't even designed into most things nowadays in my
view.

regards, Richard
