hi this problem has happend to me 2 times already, i have fixed it by doing
a clean install and wiping my operating system with a new one. Its a normal
..mp3 file, some are .wav. Like i'll be listening to music on "windows media
player" and all of a sudden i'll get an error popping up saying "Windows
media player cannont play the file. The player might not support the file or
might not support the codec that was used to compress the file. I have tried
many things but nothing has worked. Please help. Another example of my
problem.

I'll be listening to my music on my playlist on windows media player. And
all of a sudden i just get that error for all my songs. i tried playing the
songs on videolan, it works but no music plays. also, on my games there is
no music either, but there is music on youtube when i play videos on youtube.
it is a very weird problem

Actually, there is music when you watch a video on youtube because the youtube
player is actually using the flash player

If you reset the library--

, do things go back to normal?

I wouldn't think so, but that'll isolate one factor.

What sound card is on the system?
On that Error Dialog, click the Web Help button - what *URL* does it take
you to?
