I'm tired of correcting Andre E., our resident troll, on this, but I
want to make sure that nobody else here believes his nonsense.

The above sentence is completely false, as I and many others have
replied here to Andrew E. many times, and also provided links to the
Microsoft page proving him wrong.

Here, for anybody who wants to read it (not Andrew E., who either is
unable to or doesn't want to read it) is proof of what I say:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/home/upgrading/matrix.mspx

Moreover, I, and many others here, have successfully done this *many*
times.

Beware Andrew E. In the past I've sometimes thought that he was just a
wannabe expert who makes all the mistakes he does simply because he
doesn't know any better, but this issue in particular is what
convinces me that he is just a troll who purposely lies here with the
intent of harming others. Nobody else but a troll could possibly
ignore all the evidence that's been presented to him, and continually
post the same misinformation, time and time again.
