Multimedia Audio Controller

The sound on my computer isn't working properly and after doing some
searching online I found that I needed to check the device manager and sure
enough there is a yellow question mark over my Multimedia Audio Controller.

I am wondering what do I do to get the audio working again? I don't what
what I need to download.

The Device Instance Id, from under the details section is this:
PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_24C5&SUBSYS_04028086&REV_02\3&13C0B0C5&0&FD

My computer is running Windows EX Pro

If anyone could please help me out with this I would appreciate it.

If it's a brand name pc (HP, Dell) download the driver from their website.
If it's a custom build you need to determine the make/model of the
motherboard (if audio is onboard) and download the driver from the mfg's
website. If it's an add on card you need to look at it and determine the
make/model and visit the mfg's website.

I think that is AC'97 built-in sound to the motherboard. It isn't for
a separate sound card as such. The manufacturer should have a driver
download for it. If you want more help, you'll have to do a better
job of identifying the computer (i.e. Dell Dimension 1234) or the
motherboard (i.e. Asus P4C800-E Deluxe).

Everest has a motherboard:motherboard entry, that will give your
motherboard a name. The program can be downloaded here. For
the brand/model of computer, look on the cardboard box or
the invoice.
