Hello David again,
I was so "shot away" when I made that last post - i.e. ActiveX when I meant
to say Autosync ! ...and Prex should have been PrevX
....and of course I should have taken much more notice of what was happening
but, was fighting with upgrading a program in a HP iPAQ hx2110 at that time,
and just wanted to pack in and go to bed !
I think this was the page,
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...3a-28bf-4cac-a682-58d3233efb4c&DisplayLang=en
(...if this link is any good, or specific to me - looking at all the
gobbledygook in it !)
where the Restricted Sites Zone symbol appeared on my IE7 status bar, or
it may have been the next page after clicking Continue, or the next one. I
remember repeatedly/carefully scrutinising IE7's address slot ! ....also
waded through my restricted sites - stuffed full with IE-Spyad addresses,
and I checked the innards of my MVPS hosts file.
....btw I've always had MS's web address wildcarded (..is there such a
word?
in IE Trusted Sites Zone.
....any way it's not important, perhaps it was just a glitch. ...I
eventually just quit IE7 | relocated the AutoSync download at MS and never
saw the Restricted Sites symbol again.
There were three Download buttons on the AutoSync dl page, *.rtf *.doc
and the Autosync download itself. I guess I clicked one of those and then
denied Word from accessing the internet. Whilst deliberating here I've been
trying to replicate the sequence and left clicked the
eula.rtf button on the MS AutoSync dl page, and Word tried to access the
internet on my router gateway address 192.168.1.1
NS
....haven't a clue what that's all about. One last thing, just occurred, I
think I vaguely remember seeing something about me being on the wrong server
/ US server ..or something to do with servers when I should have been on a
UK server, or something like that.
....anyhow, iPAQ is finished, AutoSync is now removed from my PC, and I'll
rest content knowing that the event can go into the "I guess I don't need to
know file"
regards, Richard
