I installed Windows XP again, however my previous admin account had a
password. SO, know when i try to access my admin folder in C:/documents and
settings, access is denied. Someone has told me that I should try MS Backup.
I can access the files using the program, but I can't back up. It fails. I
just wanted to backup My Documents.

"Backup"will do you no good..

what you need to do is take ownership

see windows help (or google) for exact instructions

Never mind just got it fixed. There was a support page for this. Here's the
link for those interested.

This is not a problem with MS backup. It's a simple permissions problem.

Of course it does, it has no permissions to the folder.

You just need to take ownership of the files.

The directions for that are here:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/308421

When complete, you will have full access to the files, unless, of course,
this is XP Pro, and unless you also encrypted the files (this is NOT the
same as adding a password or marking them private).

If encryption had been invoked, you will need to import the account
certificates you backed up, or go to the recovery agent; otherwise the data
is lost.

If you've actually reinstalled windows, the passwords
are all blank. Have you tried just pressing return
instead of using a password?
