Windows NT moving local profile??

I have a Terminal Server running in a domain. All the User Profiles are
roaming profiles which were set via an Active Directory Group Policy. In
fact the same group policy deletes the locally cached profile on logout.

The problem is the boot drive is running out of disk space during the
workday when usres are logged in becasue the locally cached profiles are
saved to this boot drive. I have another drive partition that has plenty of
space and I need to know how to have the Terminal Server save the local
profiles to this new drive, as opposed to the default c:\Documents and
Settings....

Not supported??? That's not what I was hoping for.

I read the article you posted and that is quite a job for an exisitng server
that is being used by several users. Can I just change a system variable?
This way when the user logs in with their romaing profile, the TS will
locally cache it to the new path as defined by the system variable?

This way as the users log in their profiles would get move.

Well, Microsoft does not _recommend_ moving the folder "Documents and
Settings" on an already installed machine. But they do tell everybody
how to do it in the article posted by Jeff.

I suggest you do one of the following:

1. Reinstall the TS using an unattended setup as described in
KB236621.
2. If solution 1. is not possible: Replace or resize drive C:.
3. If solution 2. is not possible: Use method "Entire Folder" from
KB236621, but I recommend you back up the registry first and make sure
you can restore it.

Solution 3 is certainly a solution to your problem. If should work
well if you are careful.

Hi - did you see my last reply in the thread you started in
microsoft.public.windows.server.general?

(subject: "Environment variables in Server 2003" ....date 07/28/2007)

In there, I had indeed suggested that you post in this (TS) group as it is
more relevant, but I also mentioned a lot of other things regarding roaming
profiles (v. TS profile paths) and folder redirection / group policy, which
you should definitely look at.
