Mouse freezes

Over the last few days, my mouse pointer will periodically freeze
completely. The only way I've found to get it working again is to use the
keyboard to restart Windows (Vista Home Premium), after which the mouse
works normally for anywhere from a few hours to a day before freezing again.
This has occured with a variety of different programs running, so it doesn't
seem to be caused by any specific software.

Any suggestions, anyone?

Thanx,

Buddha

If the mouse is a corded mouse, replace it with a different mouse if it's
cordless, replace the batteries in the mouse.
