Monitor shuts down

When I turn my computer on from standby or a cold start my monitor (which is
on) will turn off. When I turn the monitor on, all seem to work fine. Can
someone shed some light on what is happening? Even a fix would be
appreciated, short of another monitor.
Thanks, Larry

If this seems familar, I did post a few days ago, but cannot locate it.

Have you tried that monitor on another computer, to determine if it's that
PC, or the monitor?

I do not have a second monitor. Any test I can do to check this one?
Thanks for response

Do you have another PC or laptop, that you can plug that monitor into?
That's what I was referring to.

Another test would be, if you had a different video card to put in that PC.

Thanks John, I understood what you were saying, I do not have a laptop
either.. 1 pc and do not have another video card . The way it is acting
sorta give me the impression its software controlled because the monitor goes
off as the pc comes up. And the monitor will display when I turn it back on.
Reckon I'll just have to live with it, not a big issue just a nuisance.
