several times my monitor would not go into screen saver and i would have to
reboot manually my system (which i know is not good) i have tried all sorts
of things, esc, windows, ctrl alt delete, but nothing will make my system
wake up. all i get is a black screen. when i turn off my monitor and on
again it says i am not getting a signal. what is going on and how do i wake
up my system again? thanks...my third time here and u have been so good to
me...

Turn 'Hibernation' off and see if that fixes the problem.

-- my hibernation says "never" yet my screensaver freezes or i get a blank
screen. if it is in hibernation i do not know how to wake it up. is there
any other info i need to let you know please let me know as i am not sure
what i should be tellling you. i only know i have to shut down manually and
3 out of 4 times it causes my desktop to turn off. i clean my hard disk
twice monthly and am not required to defrag my system at this time. i did
not add any downloads to my system that would hinder anything. i thank you
in advance.

Start/Control Panel/Display
Click on the 'Screen Saver' Tab
Next, at the bottom of the 'Display Properties' windows is a 'Monitor Power'
box.
Click on the 'Power' button in this box. This will open a 'Power Options
Properties' Window.
Check to make sure that the 'Turn off monitor' option is set to 'Never'
