I am running an older Emachinne desktop, with a flat screen Dell Monitor. SP3 is also been added.
Everything was running fine until a few weeks ago and then the monitor started flickering and dimming randomly. But i could still start windows and carrying on.
A few days ago when I was online the computer suddenly crashed or to be more precise the monitor went blank and turned off , but the computer seemed to be still running, there was a green and red lights flashing on the front of the computer.
I rebooted and everything was fine again and then it happened again. At first I thought this might be something to do with online, as it seemed to happen every time I went on line. But then I was using word the other day and the same thing happen.
Now it is happening every time I use the computer, regardless of what I am doing. I turn the computer on and am in the middle of doing something and it seems to crash, it the monitor seems to power down and lose communication with the computer. Now even when the computer is on and idle the same thing happened and I can no longer use the computer , as it keeps crashing.
At first I thought this might be a virus or malware, so I ran anti virus and malewarebite and nothing came up. I also ran scandisk and MRT and still nothing is showing up. I haven't got a clue what do do about this and I really need to be able to use this computer as all my works files and personal stuff is on it.
I don't know if this has anything to do with it , but I got a message the other day about an IP address conflict or something.
I am desperate to solve this problem and would be very gratefuk for any help or advice.
