Download Recuva - File Recovery, it is free. Scan your drive and recover the
files you need.

The above is in case the file is deleted, no harm in trying.

System Restore does not monitor data files and will not restore
your missing files. Equally if you have used System Restore it
will not remove a data file.

Do you know the name and file extension for each of the two files?
If yes use the search facility in Windows Explorer to search My
Computer for the files. If you know only part of the file
name it can be enough. If you do not know the file extension
tell us the programme that created the file and someone will be able to
tell you the file extension.

Hope this helps.

Could it not just be that somehow the files' attributes have been set to
"hidden" by accident? This happened to me once and I thought I'd lost them
when I had not. View folder in Windows Explorer, Tools / Folder Options /
View (tab) and make sure you have Show hidden files and Folders SELECTED.

Hope you find them!

Jim

What kind of system restore? A Windows system restore or a restore using a
disk that came with your PC?

No. Windows system restore does system files, not user files. And PC
restore disks often do nothing to save data, but rather wipe it.

Depends on what happened. You can try data recovery software, but if they
were deleted and overwritten they may well be unrecoverable.

Sorry there isn't better news.
