Blue Microphones has updated its popular Mikey Digital microphone for the iPad and iPhone to add native Lightning port support, bringing the option for high quality audio recording for newer devices like the iPhone 5s, iPad Air, and iPad mini. Though the iPhone has a built-in microphone, Mikey Digital from Blue Microphones brings cleaner stereo recording without the distortion of using a compact mic on a phone.

Blue Microphones says that the Mikey Digital delivers CD quality recordings and is available from retailers like Amazon for $99.99.

We'll have a review of how the Lightning-capable Mikey Digital performs soon.

Do you work a lot with audio files? Are you excited about using the Mikey Digital natively with new iOS devices with Lightning ports without having to use an adapter? The old Mikey Digital works with Apple's old 30-pin connector.
