Microsoft security scam

No victimization occurred, just want to let everyone know that this is still going on. A person with an Indian accent called me, representing himself calling from a "tech dept" who cares about registered users that are getting their updates blocked by Microsoft Windows. He stated that emails being sent from Microsoft are being blocked by my computer, and he wanted me to turn on my computer and correct that problem. He stated that I would do the fix myself, and that he would not be involved. He tried to reassure me that he was a "certified technical support engineer". After much pressing for more details about who pays him (who is on his paycheck, I asked) he stated California. I told him that CA is a state, and not an employer; he finally said "Grow for E Market". He provided a toll free number 888.514.1650 for me to call if I had questions. I did not call them. He called from 309.474.0843.
This guy had my name and my husband's name as registered users of Microsoft. This bothered me a lot, as that means that Microsoft registration information has gotten out to this group of individuals.
Just reporting this, I hung up and did not provide any info to him. I did report to the internet crime division provided by this forum.
