I am using a MS Sculpt wireless keyboard with a wireless standalone numeric keypad and a wireless sculpt mouse. MS officially calls this model the "Sculpt of Business", the product can be seen here: http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/b/sculpt-ergonomic-keyboard-for-business. I am using Windows 7, 64bit.
Today I arrived at work and found the numeric keypad has stopped working, however the mouse and keyboard are working fine. I thought it was a “Num Lock” key issue at first but it is not. I removed & re-inserted the battery in the numeric keypad, no change. I turned the mouse on & off, removed & re-inserted the batteries from the mouse & the keyboard,. No change. I unplugged the USB on my computer and plugged it back into a new port location. No change.
I purchased the MS Sculpt about 2 or 3 months ago, it is pretty new. I'm not a huge fan of the separate keyboard (I double sided sticky taped it to my keyboard tray to match the ergo angle of the keyboard) but I like the set up overall. However it would be great if there were more that could be done for trouble shooting (there are not connectivity buttons or lights).
I have read the following MS Help articles and found nothing relevant or helpful to assist me:
