Ever since i bought a new computer with windows 8 I have had serious issues with windows updates. Every time my computer updated, it wouldn't boot afterward. I never did figure out which update was the culprit so i finally disabled updates all together. This was all fine until i wanted to download an app from the microsoft store. The store refused to let me download anything until i installed my updates. I said no and gave up on the app. Unfortunately, somehow while trying to download the app i had allowed microsoft to re-enable updates, so when i shut down my computer it installed the updates i have been avoiding. When i tried booting my computer, sure enough it didn't boot just like before. It would get to the stage before the lock screen and the screen would just start flicking on and off indefinitely. Then I would do a forced shut down and it would go into automatic recovery and it would fail, so i tried a system restore and it also failed, so i ran dskchk and that didn't find any errors, so i ran system restore again and it still failed on all restore points. This is the error i got: "System restore did not complete successfully. Your computer's system files and settings were not changed.

Details:

System restore failed while copying the registry from the restore point. An unspecified error occurred during System Restore. (0x80070570)"

can someone please explain what is going on and how to fix it? Please don't say i need to refresh my computer because i just finished doing that to uninstall windows 8.1 because it was so terrible and incompatible with everything on my computer.
