Easily access other Microsoft admin portals

We are excited to introduce a new feature in Microsoft 365 Lighthouse that lets you quickly and securely access other Microsoft admin portals for each of your customers. Lighthouse users will benefit from our set of multi-tenant management tools and views - and can now deep dive into a particular customer with only a few clicks.

One of the challenges of managing multiple customers is that Managed Service Providers (MSPs) often need to use different admin portals, such as the Microsoft 365 admin center, the Azure portal, Microsoft Intune, or Exchange, to name a few. To make this process easier, we added a new way to access these portals throughout Lighthouse. This means Lighthouse users can leverage our security and management scenarios and then seamlessly jump to another Microsoft admin portal when necessary, without having to re-enter credentials or re-select the customer.

Lighthouse users are now only a few clicks away from the following admin centers for each of their customers:

  • Azure portal
  • Dynamics 365 Business Central
  • Dynamics 365 Lifecycle Services
  • Exchange
  • Microsoft 365
  • Microsoft 365 Defender
  • Microsoft Entra
  • Microsoft Intune
  • Microsoft Purview
  • Power BI
  • Power Platform
  • SharePoint
  • Teams

Improve productivity and security for your service technicians

Using Lighthouse as your launchpad makes managing multiple customers faster than ever before, saving you money while helping you keep your customers’ tenants secure, healthy, and productive. Your MSP service technicians will save time by having the benefits of Lighthouse’s multi-tenant views, along with the ability to quickly move into a specific customer admin portal when needed.

The Lighthouse admin center links use the granular delegated admin privileges (GDAP) configured for each MSP customer. MSPs can minimize security risks and exposure by using GDAP to right-size permissions for each service technician. This creates efficient and secure access for service technicians from Lighthouse to other Microsoft admin portals. For more information on how to quickly set up GDAP in Lighthouse, see Set up GDAP (microsoft.com).

How to access the new admin links

You can now access links to other Microsoft admin centers throughout Lighthouse using the Tenant filter.

From the Tenant filter at the top of the page, select the > character to the right of the tenant you want to manage. Then, select the admin center that you want to access. The link will open a new browser tab and automatically sign you in with the same account that you used to sign in to M365 Lighthouse, and it will switch to the customer that you selected in M365 Lighthouse.

You can also access the new link from the Tenants page. From this page, select the More Action option to the right of the Tenant name. Then select Manage services and the admin center that you want to access. Just like the experience in the Tenant filter, the link will open a new browser tab and automatically sign you in with the same account that you used to sign in to Lighthouse, and it will switch to the customer that you selected in Lighthouse.
