Memory stick caught by media player

I don't know if that's the cause but I noticed that WMP detects my memory
stick upon insertion and adds it in the sync list. The real problem is that
whatever I write on my memory stick is lost when I re-insert it. This
happens only on my computer. I used it on another computer and everything I
added was still there. On my computer though it shows empty. I believe it
has to do with media player.

Are you ejecting the memory stick properly when you are finished using it?
Have you formatted the device to see if it resolves the problem?

Yes,

after some time, the same happens on other PCs so maybe my memory stick has
died.

Yep, its possibility it is just defective. You could try returning it to
manufacturer if its still under warranty. I had a defective SanDisk Micro
Cruzer U3 that was defective, had it under a two year warranty and returned
it and got replacement in a few weeks.
