Windows 2000 Memory dump

TL07

I run the normal Professional version of Windows 2000. Everytime after my
computer crashes and it makes a memory dump, I find that my temporary
internet files are deleted as well. Is there a way to set the dump
configuration so that it doesn't delete those files? Because I use a large
cache and my hard drive is slow, so it takes 15-30 minutes to delete them.
 
There's no connection between the two. I don't understand. You say they're
automatically deleted yet have to wait a number of minutes to delete
something?

Oh I meant yes my temp files are automatically deleted but since my HDD is
slow I have to wait a long time to for it to delete first and only after it
finished deleting can I use the computer.

It's frustrating to see only the taskbar of the desktop load and then the
rest (icons + wallpaper) appear after 15-30 minutes due to the system being
busy deleting the stuff.

First, check the eventlog. It could be that you are getting lots of disk
error. Each of these has to be logged, each generates more errors, ...
Second, run chkdsk /r to fix up your file system.
