I have noticed that if I set media centre to automatically download
programme info, my laptop will turn on at 16:00 every day, and not always
put its self back to sleep.
Firstly, why can't Media Centre get programme info from the TV signal like
every other TV does?
Secondly, and more importantly - is there a way to stop this happening,
without also stopping Media Centre's ability to turn on the laptop when a
programme recording is due - that is quite useful! It's nice to have it
download automatically, as it's very frustrating if you're about to go out,
remember you wanted to record something, but you haven't updated Media
Centre for 2 weeks.
Can the update be run directly from the command line? Maybe I could write a
batch script to run it once a week or on system startup?
