maxtor 3100 external hard drive

I guess I will have to send it in, it was working until recently and for some this computer does not recognize it and neither did the two other ones..
the 2nd light does not come on at all, I even bought a new usb 2.0 cord..and its just not working..any suggestions?Or..is..it just dead?

Sounds like it might be dead or might have a bad power cord.
Send it in and they should send you a replacement. Maxtor warranty is 3 years I think.
