In order for me to run my Picture Package (Sony software), I require the
Flash Player to be installed.

I THOUGHT I installed the Adove Ver. 9 Multimedia Flash Player...but I guess
this is NOT the case...as I continually get the error message..."Require
Multimedia Flash Player Installed to run this application" popping up.

Can someone help me as to:

How can I successfully install the Multimedia Flash Player?

Thanks,

FLKulchar

Most websites that optionally need Flash Player should be providing a
pointer to a download site. Go to it. It is self-installing. Otherwise,
go to http://www.adobe.com/, locate Flash Player, download and install
it.

After I installed, I still received the following, eventhough I am sure I
have Adobe Flash Player installed correctly!!

Pls. advise,
FLKulchar

"To run this package, you need to install Macromedia Flash Player first."

I know of someone with the same issue, Flash is installed and she keeps
getting a message saying it's not!

Hope someone can provide a solution.

IIRC, any previous version of Flash Player must be uninstalled before the
current version is installed. If necessary, the removal might require the
removal tool that can be downloaded from Adobe and run.

Perhaps it's already successfully installed. :-)

You need to see this page:
http://www.adobe.com/go/tn_19166

First make sure you have uninstalled all previous versions if you
haven't done so already. You may even need to uninstall and reinstall
the current version.

Also, you need to make sure that in Internet Explorer both the "Download
Signed ActiveX controls" and "Run ActiveX controls and plug-ins" options
are set to "Prompt". And you need to make sure that any popup/ad
blockers you may have aren't blocking the Flash. For instance, if you
have SpywareBlaster, make sure that the box next to "Disable and block
Macromedia Flash in Internet Explorer" under Tools | Flash Killer is
unchecked.

Daave,

I did EVERYTHING you suggested from uninstalling and reinstalling the Flash
Player, changing the 'prompt' settings, etc.
....
but, to NO avail, When I open up my Sony Picture Package, I stll get the
error message..."Need to install Macromedia Flash Player."

?????????????????????????????

Oh well!!!!!!!

What version of IE are you running?

Are you sure you're not blocking Flash? Popup blockers and apps such as
SpywareBlaster may interfere with Flash.

Close IE and empty your cache. I'm not sure about IE7, but for IE6:

Right-click on IE icon or desktop or go to Control Panel and select
Internet Options:

On the General tab, click on Delete Files and make sure box next to
"Delete all offline content" is checked. Also delete cookies while
you're there.

The restart IE. What happens when you go to
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/

I opened the sight...(Test your Macromedia Authorware Web Player
installation.) was successful.

However...pop-ups are blocked, and I still GET THE PICTURE PACKAGE ERROR
MESSAGE, i.e. that Macromedia Flash Player is NOT installed!!!

I am PERPLEXED??

You need to figure out how to enable popups for that site.

Again, which version of IE are you running? And are you running any
particular third-party popup or add blocking software? Also, name all
the anti-spyware/anti-adware apps you are running.

I am running IE7, with pop-ups blocked with no additional spyware!

Thanks,

I've had more than a few cases of Flash Player problems that were due
to Permission issues on Registry Keys. There is a tool and batch file you
can use to Reset all Registry Keys to a "Default" ACL.
http://winonline.blogspot.com/2005/11/reset-entire-registry-permissions-to.html
*This is a fairly radical solution and I wouldn't undertake doing this
unless your data is backed up or the System volume is imaged.

Well, then stop blocking popups!

Right-click the IE7 icon on your desktop and then choose "Start Without
Add-Ons."

I have enabled the pop up blocker...but to no avail..

When I start my Sony Picture Package, I am prompted to install the
Macromedia Flash Player...which is already installed frankly, I'm at a
loss.

FLKulchar
PS...right clicking my IE7 desktop icon does not present the option..."start
without add-ons".

finally got it to work!

From TerryB
I have just done all of the above and received a message that it is
successfully installed. It seems to be working fine.

However, I am getting the same message as Lawrence got. I have
rebooted, etc. My Sony programs won't work.

Any suggestions now?
