Somehow I lost this off the "Send To" menu. I know how to hack the
menu easily enough, but what command/program do I add to it to get the
"Send to Desktop - Create Shortcut" option?

Thanks,

Open your send to folder (Start > Run > sendto ) and create a new file with
"DeskLink" extension :
Desktop (create shortcut).DeskLink

Good Luck, Ayush.

In Windows XP, the path should be
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\SendTo rather than the paths
mentioned in this article.

Go to Start/Run and type in: regsvr32 sendmail.dll
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsrv32 ole32
Go to Start/Run and type in: regsrv32 /i shell32

If no help, see the entry for HKEY_Classes_Root\.DESKLINK
and:

Open notepad, and create a blank text file named 'Desktop (create
shortcut).DESKLINK'
Save it in the %userprofile%/sendto folder
