Australia will be the first place in the world to begin selling the iPhone 6 and a number of local celebrities will help out to launch Apple's latest smartphones which will happen in just a few more hours.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports that people in line at three Telstra stores in Australia (Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane) will be treated to musical performances by Australia's Got Talent winners Justice Crew, and the X Factor's Dami Im and Jai Waetford just a few minutes before the doors open and sales begin at 8 am local time Friday. Fremantle player Aaron Sandilands will also appear at Telstra's Perth location. Everyone in line at those stores will also get access to "prizes, coffee, a DJ and comfy beanbags." In addition, Vodafone will serve coffee at its stores for people in the iPhone 6 line.
Not surprisingly, the lines at some Apple Store locations in Australia started forming last week. Amaki Hanyu took a picture of the line outside the Apple store in Brisbane to show how many people are already queued up to get the latest phone from Apple, and that same kind of scene is being echoed across that nation today.
Are you jealous of the fact that Australia will be the first to get the new iPhone 6 thanks to their time zone?
