Hello Board,
I have a little issue here that I would like to get some help on. I am
trying to reset my LAN connection as I have been having problems. Now I
have removed the NIC from the hardware listing in Device Manager,
however, whenever the computer reboots and the NIC card is reinstalled
automatically by XP, the connection name is incremented (LAN 1, LAN 2,
LAN 3, etc).
I would like to know where this data is being stored and how do I reset
it to the original LAN naming. I know that it does not have much impact
on the issue I'm having, where my connection stops sending and I have to
do a repair on the connection before it will start transmitting again,
but I'm figuring that if I can locate where that data is being stored
that maybe I will be closer to sorting the issue out.
Thanks.
