Laptop BSOD during sleep?

Victory-Starr

Hi, my laptop over a year old now, but it has been having this problem
for quite some time. Nearly every time I close the lid or set it to
"sleep", the screen will go black and it will never actually go to
sleep. It stays on and eventually reboots itself, and gives me a blue
screen in the process. I've ran Spybot and virus checking programs, but
I don't think that's it. I'm thinking it has something to do with a
driver?

Acer Aspire 4520
1GB Ram
Vista Home Premium SP1

So could someone please have a look at this .dmp analysis and help me
out? I'd really appreciate it. Thanks!

It says

Probably caused by : athr.sys

You'll most likely find the file in
c:\windows\system32\drivers

Looking at it's properties will hopefully tell you what it belongs to.

from a quick Google would appear to be ....

"Atheros Extensible Wireless LAN device driver"

So updating your drivers for this device may provide a solution.

Thanks, guys. I tried to manually update the Atheros driver, but in the
end it said that it was already up to date with the best driver for the
computer.

I really don't know what else to do and this is driving me crazy.

Any more suggestions?

By update drivers, he means go to your hardware vendors website and download
the Atheros drivers and then installed them.

For further assistance, provide make/model of your computer.
