Keyboard Problem

I'm having a problem with one of my computers. When I boot up I get the a message "Keyboard error or no keyboard present" The keyboard works on the set-up screens and in the DOS mode, but will not work in Windows. I've reinstalled windows with no luck. I can't complete the installtion without a working keyboard. I've used different keyboards and triple checked the connections. I'm stumped, anyone have any ideas?

Have you tried another known working keyboard?
Maybe the mouse port on the motherboard is bad. Could have a couple loose solder points.

If the error appears in the black screen at boot up, try using a keyboard from the USB port - coz the PS/2 port might be bad ... try getting u r self a USB port keyboard.
