Keboard Hang when USB Camera disconnects

I have a non USB keyboard. Sometimes after disconnecting a Canon USB Camera
after uploading photos using Canon software, the keyboard hangs. That is, if
I need to sign on to email, try to type a word doc etc, nothing happens. The
non USB mouse continues to work fine.
A restart of XP sometimes fixes. Sometime a complete power off of PC at the
wall before restarting is required to fix.
I have scanned MS knowledge base & this forum, but can't find anything.
Anyone any ideas?

Go to Start/Run, and type DEVMGMT.MSC , highlight the USB Root Hub devices,
Action menu, "Uninstall", then restart Windows, to find the device drivers
again automatically.

Thanks Mark. I will try this sometime, but I am not a very technical person,
& I don't like playing with my PC too much, when everything else is working
fine.

It's a harmless try at a fix.
