I've followed all the advice on here - uninstalled KB942615, tried to
hotfixes (to the best of my ability) and I'm STILL having problems with
certain web pages not loading. I even called the 866-PCSafety line who
suggested I re-install 942615.

I'm really getting a little upset and I'd like to be able to read my yahoo
email and access some other pages. can anyone help out a not-so-technically
gifted female with this problem ???

Most likely it's been suggested but if not: Have you tried Firefox?

If you don't have a cat, Firefox should be okay.

I don't know what you mean by 'following all the advice on here'?
Here is in windows.general - where you will find very little advice re MS
updates(the KB number things you get every Black Tuesday)
If you want loads of advice, also try the microsoft.update group - here is
one in that web interface discussion group, into which you have posted.

If you have newsgroups it is here

Tip: Temporarily disable real-time protection by your anti-virus and/or
anti-spyware applications (e.g., CounterSpy, Spysweeper, Spybot, AVG

to install the update(s).

Start a free Windows Update support incident request:

IE 6.0.2. the pages are now loading (very slowly) but I reloaded 942615
per the request from PCSafety and I'm once again getting the "Internet
Explorer Must Close" dialog again - not as often as before though.

Bear,

Have you noticed any problems with CounterSpy and installing updates?

Real-time protection by any security application can have an affect on
successfully installing updates, yes.
