Just bought a Lenovo laptop with Win 8. Can I uninstall and get Win 7? Seriously!

This new laptop is an addition and my other computers are Windows 7. I need commonality. Windows 8 is NOT designed for simple home use for seniors.For example, I have given up trying to install Skype. I am not computer illiterate but this is ridiculous!
