Don't get your hopes up, Windows 7 RC1 Ultimate was running great for a
couple months. Now it's having boot up problems. Won't boot all way,
fails to activate the mouse and usb stuff. Wants to run diagnostics and
run a restore to an earlier time. After doing the diags and restore
once, the problem was fixed....for 2 weeks, now it's boot hanging again.
More of the same from MS.

Errr it's an RC not the final version. And in your case sounds like
something that's been installed.

Hi, Hipupchuck.

What's different about YOUR computer? Why are you having problems that none
of the millions of other users worldwide are having?

It probably would help us help you if you share some of your secrets:
Make and model of your computer - or of your motherboard/CPU, etc., if you
built it yourself.
Hard disk drives and other peripherals?
Your computer environment: Heating/ventilation? RF interference? Network?
Etc.?
What happened between the time Win7 WAS working and the time it started
having problems?

You gotta give us SOMETHING to work with! We can't see your machine. ALL
we know about it is what you tell us, and so far, that is nothing. :>(

Considering that the vast majority of people using the RC have had zero
issues with it (on hardware as old as 5 years), what have you added
(hardware, drivers, programs, utilities etc) to the system that interacts
with the O/S?

What are the specs of YOUR computer?

Till you supply the above your post is meaningless.

That may be *your* experience, but it's certainly not everyone's. It's
not mine, for example.

Why are you having that experience? There's no way I can be sure, but
there are many possible reasons: hardware problems, application
issues, etc.

How come I've never ever, I repeat NEVER, had Windows crash on my machines
it's always someone fouling up their machines - business, sales,
manufacturing, etc people who don't know how to use computers.
But that's great news - it gives me extra work. As long as there're
incompetent people, there're competent peopel to take advanatge of it.
Imagine if nothign was breaking down, we'd be in a stanganting pool of idle
educated population.

Because you can't do anything with your computer. Your computer just sits
there with the exception of you generating IDIOTIC posts.

This is a windows 7 issue in which being a beta product we cannot address
these issues. Please email msoft with this issue and I am sure they will
help.

That's all irrelevant. It's has been running fine, now it's broken.
Actually at this moment is is just fine but after the last MS update it
broke.

YOU are irrelevant.

Hi, Hipupchuck.

OK, then. YOU fix it. You can see it I can't.

Rants are allowed here. We all get frustrated sometimes. But if you want
help, you'll have to help us help you. We want to help. That's why we
spend unpaid hours here every day. But we can't help if we can't understand
your problem.

Sounds like a hardware problem to me. You know what to do, diagnose your
system.

Lol, pull the other one.

Many things are unbelievable, but they do happen.
One of them is the fact my Windows has never crashed since WIndows3.1
infamous GPF's (General Protection faults).
