iPhone issue in Windows vista x64 edition

i'm running an 64bit edition of Windows Vista. for some reason my iPhone
will not work with my PC for some reason and i want to sync my files on my
iPhone with my PC. does anyone know how do fix this issue?

If i read the system requirements from itunes it only supports 32bit versions.

well, my friend has the same problem too. the only difference is that i
acually got iTunes to work in the x64 envirment, but the iPhone still does
not work with the PC. microsoft even has some hotfixes posted for x64 issues
that has to do with the iPODs but not with the iPhone.
