WMDC simply isn't recognizing my Ipaq. It is constantly listed as "Not Connected". Uninstalling and reinstalling with admin privileges is not working. devmgmt.msc is not showing any Mobile Devices at all, and the Microsoft Windows Mobile Remote Adapter is not downloading.
The only advice I have not followed is testing to see if Microsoft Security Essentials is blocking proper access. I would do so, but the link to the page directing me on how to do that redirects me the MSE default pages.
In general, why in the world is MS blocking MS programs from using MS functions? Everything involved here is Windows certified. There is no reason for this to even be looked at by a "Security Essential".
