Hi I have a big problem and was wondering whether anyone can help,

I cannot access the Internet Options from Control Panel or Internet
Explorer or Run, methods tried:

From IE tools> internet option:
result: pop up saying "This option has been cancelled due to
restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system
administrator" (I am administrator and I already tried making new
administive accounts but still doesnt work.

From Control Panel:
"Internet Options" selection is completely gone

From Start > Run > "CONTROL INETCPL.CPL" :
this options works on my other computer to retrieve the Internet
Options control panel, BUT on this computer it is useless.. nothing
happens

From SPYBOT:
I already made sure the "Lock IE control panel against opening from
within IE" is not checked

I have ran various antivirus programs and Ad-aware.. there is no
problem with those.

Does anyone have alternative ways ? Thank you so much in advance

Run the script from Doug Knox. Found at,
http://www.dougknox.com/xp/scripts_desc/xp_fix_inetoptions_restrictions.htm

Thank you so much for your reply!

I have downloaded xp_fix_internetoptions.vbs as you said and ran it..
then I reboot my computer as the instructions say however, the Internet
Options still doesn't work. :( (through IE or thorugh control panel)

in addition to that, I have tried to edit the registry by going to
regedit.exe in RUN but I cannot find find the "internet Explorer"
option, so basically for
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Control
Panel, I can only go up to
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft
(because my friend told me I can go there to make sure all values are
set to 0)

So does anyone have any other suggestions?

any would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much once again.

Hi imgenah,

Check these locations in the Registry:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel]
and
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Control Panel]

Delete "AdvanceTab", "ConnectionsTab", "ContentTab", "GeneralTab",
"PrivacyTab", "ProgramsTab", and "SecurityTab" if found.

Also check:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions]
and
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Restrictions]

Delete "NoBrowserOptions" if found.

WTC:

Many thanks for this information. I've been struggling with this since
installing ATT Dsl service. I now have my internet options back.
